<h2>New patch and season 1</h2><p>Julien, the lead developer of Illuvium Zero, recently shared a tech update with the community on Discord. According to him, version 0.1.6 is undergoing final tests before it's released to production. The team is on track to meet the deadline of releasing it this week, and then move on to season 1 next week or at the latest by the third week of May.</p><p><Image src="https://storage.googleapis.com/illuvihub-c82a4.appspot.com/Image/Illuvium_Zero_Tech_Update_Infographic_ad9e866361/Illuvium_Zero_Tech_Update_Infographic_ad9e866361.jpg" alt="Illuvium Zero Tech Update Infographic" width="auto" height="auto" /></p><h2>Other updates</h2><p>Another significant feature that Julien mentioned was the blueprint minting feature. This feature is now in "<i>serious mode</i>" and the team is getting ready to test contracts and flow in the game. In the beta version, the team has also been working hard to improve the game's performance, size, and stability. The mobile and desktop beta versions are all under 150MB fully built with all assets. The client will get even smaller once some of these assets are externalized at some point in the future.</p><p>Julien also shared even more beta news about improving login flow, camera inputs, and general UI stability. The art side of the game has been doing amazing VFX for plots. The team has also been working on sound design internally to make the beta version sound "<i>as crisp as the THX test scene</i>".</p><p>In the end Julien mentioned the team has been closely monitoring Apple's obligations to open up sideloading on iOS. Unfortunately, it seems they are reserving it for Europe only. Nevertheless, the team is making sure that iOS players are very much on their minds for beta, and the WebGL build is shaping up to be a great alternative. If the team can get native iOS sideloading, the players will be the first to know.</p><h3>Final words</h3><p>We are really excited about the launch of Season 1 and it seems we are getting closer and closer to it. We are probably getting an announcement from the team with a date soon so make sure to follow us on Twitter so you don't miss out on any updates.</p>

<p>The Illuvium team has announced several key updates and advancements across their Illuvium game series, including Illuvium: Beyond, Illuvium: Zero Season 1 and the Private Beta 2 of Illuvium: Overworld. With a clear focus on bug fixes, user interface improvements and gameplay enhancements, these updates signal Illuvium's commitment to delivering the highest quality blockchain games. Below is a summary of the recent advancements:</p><h2>ILLUVIUM: BEYOND</h2><p>After an extended run Illuvium is gearing up for Wave 2, introducing an exciting array of new Illuvitars for collection and excellent partnerships. Additionally, Illuvium has almost finalized the promotional sales feature and introduced new backgrounds for Tier 0's. Also Alpha Stamps will be stamped onto Alphas in the future!<br>&nbsp;</p><h2>ILLUVIUM: ZERO SEASON 1&nbsp;</h2><p>Now live, Illuvium: Zero Season 1 allows players to build their plots to gain access to a limited selection of blueprints, offering a new strategic dimension to gameplay. Significant progress has been made in minting blueprints, which will be available at season's end, providing players a unique advantage.</p><h2>ILLUVIUM: OVERWORLD&nbsp;</h2><p>Private Beta 2 has been released and has received positive feedback from the Illuvium community. The game now features two new regions (Brightland Steppes and Abyssal Basin), new movement mechanics (Wingsuit and Aero Soles), Experience and Level Growth implementation and Encounter Mods.</p><h2>ILLUVIUM: ARENA&nbsp;</h2><p>The Illuvium: Arena updates shipped with Overworld PB2 have been positively received. The Arena PvP prototype is nearing completion, and 28 new Illuvials have been introduced. Omega rework, Synergies Simplification, Hyperview, Overload Updates and server connection have all significantly enhanced gameplay.</p><h2>ILLUVIDEX</h2><p>Illuvium is currently developing the Repository (the information section of the IlluviDex) and is finalizing the Marketplace by including all new collections, such as Illuvials, Suits, and Weapons. Illuvial Echoes have been mapped out to make each Illuvial feel more personal and unique.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Besides these advancements, Illuvium has made significant strides in Staking, the Merchandise Store, the Game Launcher, and the Account system. All of these updates mark important milestones in Illuvium's mission to redefine the world of blockchain gaming.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>While Illuvium continues to make progress, the team is aware of several issues that need to be addressed. Illuvium is committed to resolving these issues as quickly as possible and encourages players to provide feedback to help refine and perfect the gaming experience. As Illuvium moves towards the Open Beta phase, their goal is to enhance their features and provide an immersive, engaging gaming experience.  A Bright Year Ahead: Illuvium's Exciting Developments in May 2023

<p>This time around, for the first time because of Government V2, all of the stakers were able to vote in four different pools of candidates for four different Sub-Councils - Community, Marketing, Strategy and Game. It was also the first time that stakers were able to split their votes among multiple candidates. All of that resulted in the new council members being elected. You can find all of the elected members and their bios on our <a href="/governance">Governance page</a>.</p><h2>Voters turnout</h2><p><Image src="https://storage.googleapis.com/illuvihub-c82a4.appspot.com/Image/Voters_per_election_graph_184ac1ccbc/Voters_per_election_graph_184ac1ccbc.jpg" alt="Voters per election graph" width="auto" height="auto" /></p><p>The average number of voters this time around was ~320, whereas Marketing had the most voters with 328. That is more than 100 voters less than 6 months ago and it's really hard to explain why exactly. Have people lost interest in governance? Was Illuvium doing too little to market the elections? Maybe now with 40 candidates, people just didn't want to research all of them and decided not to vote at all. There are so many reasons why that can be. But in the end, the reality is that we are having fewer and fewer voters. This has to change in the future. It may change on its own by next time, as the game will be closer to launch and the community might become enthusiastic about the project once more. For now, that however is not the case and it is something that requires attention in preparation of the next council nomination period.</p><p><Image src="https://storage.googleapis.com/illuvihub-c82a4.appspot.com/Image/Number_of_stakers_ed4093f707/Number_of_stakers_ed4093f707.jpg" alt="Number of stakers" width="auto" height="auto" /></p><p>Keep in mind that during that whole period the number of stakers was only growing, but we are still getting less and less voters. We see that there is much less vILV now than before. The average voter has around 20 vILV. This number is pretty similar to the ones before and not much changed there.</p><h2>Election results</h2><p>I want to congratulate every member that was selected and I'm really hopeful that they will make us proud and improve Illuvium during the next Epoch while we are getting ready for the launch.</p><p><Image src="https://storage.googleapis.com/illuvihub-c82a4.appspot.com/Image/Election_Results_311a62f039/Election_Results_311a62f039.jpg" alt="Election Results" width="auto" height="auto" /></p><p>The last election's barrier to entry to the Council was 547 vILV. I was expecting that because of much fewer voters, and because in some Sub-Councils some people will get a lot of votes we will have a much lower barrier for being elected. But because only 4 people were elected in most of the Sub-Councils and&nbsp;<a href="https://gov.illuvium.io/#/proposal/0xf9aa3685b947d87b73751954670753337d6a8baae97020a1bbf29f0fb92b2aa1">ICCP-7 Weighted Voting for Epoch Elections</a>&nbsp;we got some pretty close results with a lot of vILV needed for being elected.</p><p>In Community Sub-Council our very own Garf got only 17 vILV more than the 6th person with the most votes. Patate in Game Sub-Council got 20 vILV more than the 5th person and in Marketing Fight4ETH got 61 more vILV. The Strategy Sub-Council wasn't that close with 5th place having 122 vILV less than Nijafe_Plays.</p><h2>Conclusion</h2><p>All in all, the results of this election are rather concerning. I feel like Illuvium could have done more to market the elections and Gov V2 and that we should have gotten a lot more votes in (<i>Big props to TSG for doing the panels with the Candidates</i>). Probably the main focus at the moment is PB2, PvP, Illuvium Zero and the rest of the games. But I feel like this will be one of the most important epochs and we should have gotten a lot more people involved, as candidates and as voters.&nbsp;</p><p>What do you think about Elections? Numbers behind the Council Elections

<h3>Governance V2 Overview</h3><p>Governance V2 allows for 17 positions of council members to be filled by the community. You have 5 community council spots that will interact with the community for the most part and ensure that they feel heard in the DAO. The other three sub-councils each will consist of 4 elected community members that specialise in the respective field. You have a Game, Marketing and Strategy sub-council. More information on the roles of the sub-councils can be found in this other article or the official IIP 32.</p><h3>The nomination period</h3><p>With Governance V2 comes a lot of opportunity for people to be picked for a sub-council since 17 people will now be elected for the various positions. Along with the extra spots, which were previously limited to 5, the tasks are also more defined. This makes it easier to nominate yourself or someone else, because you know what you are getting into. This ease of access allows for a lot of additional nominees to run for council. During previous elections, we would have roughly 20 people running for council but now we see that a total of 40 people are running. This is a big increase in nominees, while the interest in the entire web-3 has only been dropping. With a smaller pool of community members, the talent may also be reduced. Regardless of talent, at least you know that everyone in the council is passionate because they have stuck around until now. With the nomination period over, we are now entering the campaigning period. What will people share with the community to increase their chances of getting voted in?</p><h3>Campaigning period</h3><p>The campaigning period has started since the third of May and will run for 5 days until the 8th. During this time, the nominees will try to share things with the community to increase their chances of being elected. There will be interviews with each nominee and a lot of activity around gaining more votes. During this time, you will see a lot of activity from basically everyone, trying to get you to vote on them. When the campaigning period is over, you will be left with a lot of homework. You can choose to read through pages of the bio’s of nominees, putting all of their accomplishments on full display and you can watch interview snippets pertaining to each individual.</p><h3>Voting period</h3><p>While you are busying yourself with all of this content, you should make sure that your vote goes out in time. The voting period is straight after the campaigning period and takes 5 days as well. Remember, a council position is a pretty big deal within the community. Council members have a particular influence and power with the role and giving it to just anyone who wants it, is a pretty bad idea. So during this campaigning time, make sure to look past all the balloons and festive hats and try to vote from a perspective of excellence. These council members will decide what direction this multi-million dollar company will go in.&nbsp;</p><h3>Final notes and changes</h3><p>With the new ICCP-7, you will be able to choose exactly who you will vote for. The ICCP changes that you will be able to split your vote between multiple people within the same sub-council. Before, you would only be able to choose a single nominee to vote for from within each sub council. This means, if the ICCP passes, you will be able to vote for your most preferred team of council members!&nbsp;</p><p>When doing so, keep this question in mind: Who do <strong>you </strong>think will be the biggest boons for the project? If you continue to ask yourself that question and vote on the strongest candidates based on that, then only the most excellent nominees will be elected! When you hold ILV tokens, you have the ability to decide on who will represent you within the governance of Illuvium’s Decentralised Autonomous Organisation. With the coming of Version two of Governance the specific roles of each council member are more clearly defined. This means that you now can more accurately choose your preferred representatives based on their qualifications.

<h2>Transition to Gov V2</h2><p>As the Illuvium DAO prepares for its transition from Gov V1 to Gov V2, there hasn't been much new information to report over the past 30 days. The team has been busy working on this major update in hopes to make the transition a smooth one. As a result, other updates, information and announcements have been put on hold while the Council focuses on this important transition.</p><h2>Council Meetings</h2><p>The Illuvium Council held five meetings in the past 30 days, but as the team has been busy preparing for the upcoming implementation of Gov V2, they have yet to release any meeting notes. After reaching out to Rich, the Illuvium community manager, it was revealed that the lack of meeting notes may be due to the fact that much of what was discussed in the meetings could not be shared due to non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).</p><h2>Council Votes</h2><p>Two proposals were voted on and passed in the month of March. ICCP-5 Initiate Governance V2 Transition Process and ICCP-6 &nbsp;Illuvitar and Land Royalties.</p><h3>Blickter approved all proposals</h3><p>ICCP-5</p><ul><li><i>“Governance V2 is ready for the community. Multiple of the improvements in Gov V2 would have found value this epoch, Illuvium's scope and the required expertise to make the right decision in different areas has expanded, and I believe Gov V2 is the right structure to handle the current and impending decisions.”</i></li></ul><p>ICCP-6</p><ul><li><i>“I believe diverting royalties now creates the maximum amount of freedom with regards to decisions that may need to be made by future councils. By diverting royalties to the Safety Pool, we leave options on the table. If we were to distribute royalties, there's no going back on that decision.”</i></li></ul><h3>Deraji approved all proposals</h3><p>ICCP-5</p><ul><li><i>“It’s been about 5 months since @Tarren | Illuvium asked this epoch’s candidates whether we would cut our term short when governance V2 was ready. It took longer than expected, though this new model of DAO leadership could not come at a better time. The governance v2 model has progressed to an excellent state, enhancing DAO leadership through further decentralization and specialization. I am incredibly proud of the team that made this possible, and the community for their honest feedback and encouragement.”</i></li></ul><p>ICCP-6</p><ul><li><i>“As my other council members shared in a split vote, this is a complex situation between what is best for development and what has been promised to stakers. However, as I shared during past election cycles, my paramount role is ensuring the team has what they need to deliver a successful product. While I am an advocate for increasing accountability regarding product development, I cannot in good conscience allow critical funds to be distributed at a tenuous financial time and broader market uncertainty.”</i></li></ul><h3>Scoriox approved ICCP-5 and rejected ICCP-6</h3><p>ICCP-5</p><ul><li><i>“I've always maintained that without the community, Illuvium couldn't be as great as its shaping up to be. Governance V2 makes it even easier for those who are particularly passionate in the community to make the project even stronger than it already is. If you have a drive to make Illuvium the best damn game in the world then please nominate yourself for Gov V2, we are all on the same team and teamwork makes the dream work.”</i></li></ul><p>ICCP-6</p><ul><li><i>“This would set a precedent that would personally make me uneasy as an investor in Illuvium and I have always been vocal that protecting the interests of stakers is really important to me. By completing an action that is retroactive and for all intensive purposes goes against the fundamental belief of the Illuvium ecosystem it sets a precedent that past proposals can be changed on a whim. When in reality the council's duty is to uphold the beliefs and principles of Illuvium and EVERYONE involved in the DAO.”</i></li></ul><h3>Animositas approved ICCP-5 and rejected ICCP-6</h3><p>ICCP-5</p><ul><li><i>“We've never needed a better council than the next epoch. &nbsp;There will be critical decisions forthcoming for all aspects of the protocol as we move into launch activities. &nbsp;Having a larger number of committed, knowledgeable individuals is critical to the sustained success of the DAO. &nbsp;Giving the maximum amount of time for potential candidates to come forward, community evaluation, and a smooth voting process for the additional sub-councils and main council is essential.”</i></li></ul><p>ICCP-6</p><ul><li><i>“I am strongly in favor of including Illuvitar secondary sales in the safety pool as this was what I believe the community and I desired and intended beforehand and this represents more of a clarification of that intention. &nbsp;However, I do not support the inclusion of land revenue retroactively. If we were in an existential crisis for funding to continue the project, the decision would be different for me. &nbsp;But given Illuvium's current financial state, I do not believe we find ourselves in that situation. &nbsp;I believe we have flexibility to reasonably work through details of a capital raise and other revenue streams that are actively in progress to sufficiently cover any runway concerns without utilizing these funds after the fact.”</i></li></ul><h3>Kieran approved all proposals</h3><p>IIP-31</p><ul><li>No statement was given.</li></ul><p>IIP-32</p><ul><li><i>“Initially, I was inclined to reject the ICCP-6 proposal, as I felt it was unjust to retroactively revoke distributions owed to stakers. The agreement for Illuvium: Beyond distributions was established before the product launch, while IlluviDex transactions were not. However, upon further reflection and engaging in discussions with fellow council members, my stance has evolved in favor of the proposal. Although the capital raise is nearing completion, the funds have not yet been transferred to the treasury. It is crucial for us to act responsibly until this occurs. Our primary responsibility is to ensure adequate resources are available to fulfill our commitments to ILV holders and to maintain the safety pool as a contingency in case our financial position changes.”</i></li></ul><h2>Council Catch-Up</h2><p>In an effort to help keep the community informed on council action and sentiment I will be interviewing a different council member each month.
